Retired as a Managing Director of Scudder, Stevens @ Clark, an investment counsel firm where he was employed for 36 years. Mr. Barrett is active with a range of non-profit institutions. His current Board commitments include:

• The Overseers of the Huntington Library, Art Galleries and Botanical Gardens
• The Pasadena Conservatory of Music.

He served on the Board of Pacific Oaks from 1977 to 1996 and was Board Chair from 1986 to 1988. Mr. Barrett was a Board Life Trustee since 2003 and was re-elected to the Pacific Oaks Board in 2009.
